Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum (Marion, Kentucky)

Fluorspar_lg
The Clement Mineral Museum collection is composed of thousands of fluorite crystal specimens. The museum also has an extensive collection of journals, photographs, mining tools, and artifacts related to fluorspar mining. The exhibits are used to educate visitors about the fluorspar mining industry which flourished in the 1950's, and the people involved in the Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District. Crittenden County is believed to be the first place in Kentucky where the mineral fluorspar was mined.
